Lincoln Road Snags Three New National Retail Chain Stores
by Joshua Head

Miami Beach FL - June 9, 2009 --- Lincoln Road, a pedestrian mall between Alton Road and Washington Avenue, will have three new tenants soon. The mall that is a thriving dining and shopping area is reported to be adding Crate and Barrel, J. Crew and Sketchers in the coming weeks.

Crate and Barrel, a home-store where customers can buy affordable, modern house wares and furniture will open at the intersection of Lincoln and Jefferson. Crate and Barrel will be a great addition to Miami Beach as one of only a few affordable places to shop for house wares, with another being Pottery Barn. Founded in the 1960’s, Crate and Barrel provides European designs of home products ranging from kitchenware, bed and bath, to furniture.

J. Crew began operations in 1983 and has expanded into an iconic American brand known for its sophisticated, fun clothing and accessories. J. Crew will be opening next to the Apple Store near Lincoln and Meridian. Fritz’s Skate Shop held court in that spot for many years until recently moving to Washington Avenue for more affordable rents. J. Crew sells men’s and women’s clothing.

Finally, Sketchers, an award-winning global leader in the lifestyle footwear industry will open next to the new J. Crew. Sketchers sells more than 2,500 styles for men, women and kids with a product range from fitness to dress shoes.

Lincoln Road, with the new construction of fountains and shopping spaces between Alton Road and Lenox Avenue and the addition of new stores such as Crate and Barrel and the return of old favorites like Pink Palm, continues to be a major hub of activity for dining, and shopping in Miami Beach.
