Mickey Rourke and other celebrities party with the gays
by Joshua Head

Miami Beach Fl, June 17, 2008 --- Sunday night, South Beach’s hottest Sunday gay night, Click, celebrated its one-year anniversary and a Mickey Rourke with friendsuccessful year it has been.  Even movie star Mickey Rourke along with gal pal showed up to celebrate and party with the gays.  Rourke, clad in black pants and black leather vest, chatted with his female friend in the VIP area all the while with a smile on his face.

Movie, television, and music celebrities partying it up in gay clubs or on a gay night is not an anomaly, especially here in South Beach.  In the 1990’s Madonna and a host of other celebrities made the rounds at South Beach’s hottest nightspots including the gay nights.  Other stars spotted in South Beach gay clubs include Matt Damon with then girlfriend Lucianne Bozan at the now defunct Anthem Sundays at Crobar.   Most recently, Jim Carrey, Ewan McGregor, and Rodrigo Santoro were seen at South Beach’s newest hit Halo Lounge for Edison Farrow’s Martini Tuesdays.

Click Sundays held at Dek23 is the brainchild of Omar Gonzalez and Dustin Reffca who wanted to bring back a gay Sunday night to South Beach.  Click fills the void left when Anthem Sundays ended after years at Crobar and Mansion.  Gonzalez has brought in A-List DJs such as Junior Vasquez, Tracy Young, Paulo, Danny Tenaglia to name a few.  Click Sundays is a gay event but is very straight-friendly as well.  Click brings back the days when South Beach was at its best.  Gay parties that attract not only gays, but also drag queens, punk, Goth, transvestites, young and old, and of course the occasional celebrity who knows that gays throw the best parties.  This is especially true in South Beach
.
