White Party Ends 25 Year Tenure at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens
by Joshua Head
Miami Beach, FL – August 12, 2010 ---
Vizcaya Museum and Gardens has played
backdrop to one of the most
renowned HIV/AIDS fundraisers in the world, The White Party,
produced by Care Resource for the last 25 years.
The 2010 White Party will be the last held at Vizcaya due to
extremely high costs and limited access to the property according to
Care Resource.
Commenting to the Miami Herald, Wade Patterson,
director of finance and resource development for Care Resource said
that the rental fees for Vizcaya neared $50,000.
Care Resource, a non-profit that helps HIV-positive people
receive health care, feels that it has become a fundraiser for
Vizcaya instead of them and has decided to change the location for
next year.
