Miami Beach, FL - November 29, 2011 --- From December 1 - 4, 2011, Miami Art Basel 2011Beach, Florida, will host the 10th edition of Art Basel Miami Beach, the most prestigious art show in the Americas. More than 260 leading galleries from North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa will take part, showcasing works by more than 2,000 artists of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Art Basel 2011 introduces David Bromstad of HGTV's Color Splash Miami and Design Star premieres public art exhibition as well as a steller list of many others. The LGBT Visitor Center in an installment that began during Sleepless Night and runs through December 5th displaying works from 11 different artists. more

personality David Bromstad (www.bromstad.com) will celebrate his first open-to-the-public art exhibition, titled “Body, Money, Death,” at the Z Ocean Hotel South Beach on December 2 and 3, 2011 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm each day.

The exhibition is comprised of paintings and furniture installations created by Bromstad this year at his South Florida studio. As Bromstad explains, “The inspiration for the paintings and furniture pieces in this exhibition are the three things that we worry about most in life – our body, money and death. The imagery here reflects on my own personal struggle with body and money issues, as well as mortality, throughout my life.” more

Miami Beach, FL - October 9, 2011 --- I Tiffany Fantasia (Henry Williams)first met Henry (as Tiffany of course) at Palace Bar and Grill on Ocean Drive. Palace is renowned for having some of the most outrageous drag shows in South Florida. Henry delivers. He delivers on talent and comedy that few drag queens can. It is amazing when you have the day off and take in one of his shows and you can't help but leave with a smile and full of joy. What else could anyone ask for? Henry's such a nice guy and bubbling with talent and made Palace THE go to destination for any visitor, but really, he's just One of Us.

Task Force Launches Next Phase of Queer the Census Campaign

Washington, DC - October 13, 2011 --Gay Census- The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force is launching the next phase of its “Queer the Census” campaign, which is designed to ensure lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people are included in a broad swath of federal surveys and data collection efforts. The Task Force is encouraging people to learn more about why federal surveys are important and to get involved through an action center on its www.QueertheCensus.org website. 

Despite progress being made in the area of counting married same-sex couples, LGBT individuals still are not counted in the census or hundreds of other federal surveys that are supposed to reflect the diversity of people in the U.S. more
