Over the next few weeks, the holiday spirit will completely engulf our city turning it into a wonderful world of gift giving, holiday cheer, and laughter. The holiday season really is the most wonderful time of the year, and to celebrate, the South Beach Aids Project (SoBAP) is holding a fundraiser to raise money to support the only HIV prevention organization that specifically targets the gay community.

About SoBe AIDS Project
From the free 20 minute rapid testing at the CVS pharmacy on Lincoln Road to their various support groups to the countless HIV prevention programs the agency have implemented on Miami Beach, their level of giving to our community only continues to grow. And as that level continues to grow, so does their need for financial support. At one point or another, all of our lives have been touched by this horrible disease and unless we do something to stop it, more and more of our friends, family, and loved ones will join the millions of men, women, and children who have already fallen ill to this fatal virus.

Anonymous and confidential HIV testing is available six days a week as well as support groups for long-term AIDS survivors and the newly diagnosed. Individual counseling services are available. The Work in Progress Program helps clients living with HIV/AIDS prepare to reenter the work force. We offer educational seminars , HIV prevention outreach in the clubs and bars of SoBe through our Project Quest and online support and HIV information.

About The Benefit
The fundraising drive began on December 1st and will conclude on December 21st with a benefit party at Score for their Evolution Fridays.  Starting at 8pm, Score envites you to complimentary cocktails and hors d'oeuves. Continuing on with Score weekly Evolution Fridays, Dj/Producer Oren Nizri will be tearing the house down with his great music and Shelina will be performing live. AMRIT will entertain the crowd with the art of Belly Dancing.

SoBAP recently announced that the fundraiser held in December has garnered $18,613. The fundraiser began December 1st and culminated with a fun filled night of music at Score with DJ Oren Nizri on December 21st. The Board of Directors and staff would like to express their gratitude to everyone who donated and joined in the celebrations at Score. It was an amazing achievement to collect such a great amount in only three weeks, and they're still receiving donations.
