Winter Music Conference: Music, Fashion, Fun
By JDH- SOBEGAYINFO.COM
Miami Beach, Florida, April 2nd, 2008 --- This year’s 23rd Winter Music Conference was one of the best targeting the gay market. Events began early in the week on Wednesday at Halo. Jenna Drey, Lauren Hildebrandt, and Ebonee Excell gave great performances and so did the great DJs at Halo. The event was a great kick-off, sending gay version of WMC into overdrive. Thursday, Score had a great crowd for their free Future Anthems event. Inaya Day was on-hand to deliver a stellar performance, singing her chart topping hits.
Friday night, the crowds returned to Score for some of the best-known DJs on the gay dance circuit. And the DJs didn't disappoint, playing to a packed house into the wee hours of the morning. Saturday, we chose to stop by Halo once more for their Andrew Christian fashion show. The hot guys and gals showed off Andrew Christian’s latest swimwear that is sure to be a hit at the beach this summer.
Sunday morning Tracy Young and Peter Rauhofer held their own church service at Mansion. Sunday afternoon we ran over to FYE Music in Miami Beach to meet up with Kristine W and have a couple of photo ops with a CD signing. Finally Sunday night brought it all to an end for us at Click where Omar Gonzalez gave us great DJs and great drag performances as usual. I particularly enjoyed hearing one of my favorites, DJ Demarko, who I last heard in Montreal. Junior Vasquez closed the evening with what was probably one of the best performances I've heard from him.
Unfortunately we all can’t be everywhere so there were many events we had to miss. I want to thank all of the clubs, promoters and performers for a wonderful and exciting Winter Music Conference week. It was the most memorable and event filled we’ve ever had. Thank goodness March is over - what an exhausting month.
